Translations and reprints

Stories from Jinty and related titles were translated into various languages, and reprinted in other publications in the UK.

So far we know about translations into Dutch, Greek, Indonesian, and Spanish. If you are aware of any other translations that were done at the time or subsequently, please send in a comment as we would be extremely interested to know more!

Jinty included reprints of stories from earlier UK titles; this was usual practice in girls’ comics of the time. In turn the stories from Jinty were reprinted elsewhere in the UK, at the time and subsequently.

2000AD publisher Rebellion have recently made exciting announcements about reprinting girls comics from this era – initially a reprint from Misty, followed subsequently with an announcement that they have purchased the rights from Egmont for the IPC juvenile publications from 1 Jan 1970 onwards.
